Description
Summary:Period of the Ukrainian Cossacks, both Registered, and Zaporozhian, is one of the most important and popular topics in homeland historic science, including archaeology. Comprehensive research of various population centres (cities, castles, villages, and Sichs), as well as of separate categories of material culture (armaments, ceramics, ironware, and items made of non-ferrous metals), glassware, and other everyday products evidence that overall the level of epoch’s development corresponded to the general European one. The Ukrainians of that time in fact «absorbed» an experience of other countries, including the Ottoman Empire subjects. The monuments of the latter are also represented at the territory under the study. However, even if the antiquities of this time are studied by far better comparing to other periods of the post-Mongols times, certain issues are elucidated quite partially and not enough.
