Zusammenfassung:Development of a maces production in Ancient Rus can be traced during the 12th—13th centuries, when the cast bronze hollow mace-heads appeared, having not only military but also a status function. Star-shaped maces were the most vivid examples of such manufacture.The paper deals with the comparison of different typological schemes of the Ancient Rus maces. The position of regarding of all the Ancient Rus star-shaped maces as one main form and consider them as one type divided into four subtypes is justified. The decorative components, which can be implemented with four ornamental schemes with variations, have been also systematized. Some materials from the storage of the National Museum of History of Ukraine that have not been previously published are taken into scientific circulation. The map and the catalogue of the Ancient Rus star-shaped mace heads according to a new research have been compiled
