Based on a map of earthquakes and seismic profiles were studied the objective laws of distribution of earthquakes along the area and depth. The northern boundary of the South Caspian basin is differed by high seismic activity. Based on the modern depth data, it is possible to assume that the observed seismicity associated with the processes, the result from the subduction of the consolidated crust of SCB beneath the Epihercynian platform, established on the materials ultra-deep seismometry. З урахуванням останніх даних геофізичних досліджень проаналізовано зв'язок сильних землетрусів з шарами земної кори в азербайджанському секторі Південнокаспійської западини. На основі карти епіцентрів землетрусів і сейсмологічних профілів вивчено закономірності розподілу землетрусів за площею і глибиною. Північна межа западини відрізняється високою сейсмічною активністю. Ґрунтуючись на сучасних глибинних даних, можна припустити, що спостережувана сейсмічність пов'язана з процесами, які виникають в результаті субдукції консолідованої кори Південнокаспійської западини під епігерцинську платформу, встановлену за матеріалами надглибинної сейсмометрії. 2014 Article Структура субдукционной зоны Южно-Каспийской впадины и сейсмичность / А.Г.
