Surface chemistry of silica and related sorbents A study of glucose oxidase adsorption has been undertaken from a solution of the enzyme (0.125 mmol dm⁻³) in acetate buffer (pH 4) onto mesoporous aluminosilicates synthesized in the presence of biomolecules (lecithin, glucose oxidase). These aluminosilicates displays a high sorption capacity (up to 150 mg/g). The physical adsorption of the enzyme showed clear dependence on pore diameter of the materials. The porous structure of such inclusion compounds was detailed.
