Digital Library of Periodicals of National Academy of Sciences of UkraineРезюме: | Oolites occur in the Upper-Frasnian lower saliferous formation of the Pripyat Trough and make up 49 to 54% of the total rock. These are composed of a core of pyritized calcite enveloped by a radial shell. Oolitic limestones built by pelitomorphic calcite are found in the intersalt deposits of the northern part of the trough. Oolites of oval or rounded shape with a radiate shell and a core formed by pelitomorphic calcite were met in the eastern and western areas. In the south of the trough some immature oolites with two or three concentric shells occur in the territory of the Valavy palaeodelta. Oolites of the spheric or ellipsoidal shape are abundant in the Upper-Famenian upper saliferous formation. Grains measuring 0,08x0,08 mm are dominant. Oolites make up 50 to 65% of the total rock. The cores are grains of rounded quartz and tabular feldspar. The concentric shell includes 8 to 40 concentres. Oolitic facies are confined in regional plan to a narrow zone in the west of the trough extending for a distance of 80 km from south to north with a maximum width of 30 km. Within the Gomel structural dam some oolitic facies occur in Triassic deposits. Oolites measuring 0,1–0,35 mm are abundant. These have radial-concentric shell forming the main part of the oolite body. Oolite cores are composed of micrograined aggregates. The occurrence of oolites evidently suggests the formation of oolitic shallows in the palaeorelif of the bottom part of palaeobasins. |
