Встановлено два фундаментальних факти теорії струменів для просторів Соболева Wm,p. Перший із них полягає в тому, що формальне диференціювання k-струменів є сумісним з поточковим визначенням соболевських просторів (m−1)-струменя на регулярних підмножинах евклідових просторів Rⁿ.
