To elucidate the mechanism of the deDOsition process, FTIR spectroscopic studies were performed. A detailed analysis indicates the formation of TaCl₆⁻ complexes and some oxochloride complexes of tantalum (V) with bridge oxygen bonds Ta-O-Ta.
