Особенности политического выбора украинских граждан в обществах авторитарного и демократического типа (сравнительный анализ результатов выборов в Верховную Раду Украины 2006 года по зарубежному округу)

The aim of this article is to analyze the peculiarities of political choice made by more than 34 thousand of Ukrainian voters abroad during the last parliamentary elections (March, 2006), where the parliaments of political configuration different from real Ukrainian one were elected. 78 countries where the Ukrainians had voted were classified by means of existing conceptual approaches and empirical estimations of democratic/non democratic sociopolitical systems. Using statistical analysis, the author constructed an independent variable named as “type of political system” in order to distinguish (1) democratically developed, (2) partly democratic, and(3) autocratic countries. In depth examination of the differences in results of elec tions in these three groups of countries made it possible to reveal statistically signi ficant correlation between the type of political system and political preferences as well as to arrive at some important conclusions.
