| description | The research is dedicated to statistical analysis of such a powerful natural phenomenon as an earthquake and to the problems of monitoring the seismicity in the territory of Ukraine directly. According to evidences of century-old data, annual number and the strengths of earthquakes differ, however its growth is observed definitively. Such a trend needs more attentive attitude to manifestations of seismic activity and its results even within the platform parts of the territory of Ukraine. Examples of registering earthquakes observations of different intensity and remoteness by Ukrainian observation net have been made. Special consideration at the National center of seismological data has been given to seismic vibrations which appear and are fixed in the areas bordering Ukraine and within its territories directly. Essential background for elaboration and successful practical usage of the medium-term and short-term methods of forecasting the approaching seismic catastrophe or dangerous development of the seismic process which has begun are observation and on-line processing of the earthquakes at the National center of seismological data with successive producing bulletins and catalogues. |

Работа посвящена статистическому анализу такого мощного природного явления, как землетрясение, и проблемам мониторинга сейсмичности непосредственно на территории Украины. Как свидетельствуют многовековые данные, годовое количество и мощность землетрясений неодинаковы, но наблюдается безусловное повышение сейсмичности. Такая тенденция требует более внимательного отношения к ее проявлениям и последствиям даже на платформенных частях территории Украины. Приведены примеры регистрации украинской сетью наблюдений землетрясений различной интенсивности и удаленности. Особое внимание в Национальном центре сейсмологических данных уделено сейсмическим колебаниям, возникшим и фиксируемым на граничащих с Украиной территориях и непосредственно в ее пределах. Наблюдения и оперативная обработка землетрясений в Национальном центре сейсмологических данных с последующим формированием бюллетеней и каталогов создают необходимую основу для разработки и успешного использования на практике методов средне- и краткосрочного прогноза приближающейся сейсмической катастрофы или опасного развития сейсмического процесса, который начался. Стаття присвячена статистичному аналізу такого могутнього природного явища, як землетрус, та проблемам моніторингу сейсмічності безпосередньо на території України. Як свідчать багатовікові дані, річна кількість і потужність землетрусів неоднакова, але спостерігається безумовне підвищення сейсмічності. Така тенденція потребує більш уважного відношення до її проявів та наслідків навіть на платформних частинах території України. Наведено приклади реєстрації українською мережею спостережень землетрусів різної інтенсивності та віддаленості. Особливу увагу в Національному центрі сейсмологічних даних приділено сейсмічним коливанням, що виникли та фіксуються на територіях, що межують з Україною, та безпосередньо в її межах. Спостереження та оперативна обробка землетрусів у Національному центрі сейсмологічних даних з подальшим формуванням бюлетенів та каталогів створюють необхідну основу для розробки і успішного використання на практиці методів середньо- та короткотермінового прогнозу сейсмічної катастрофи, що наближається, або небезпечного розвитку сейсмічного процесу, що розпочався.
