Досліджено особливості землетрусів у центрі Дніпровсько-Донецької западини. Протягом століть цих явищ не виникало, але в цьому десятилітті поблизу м. Полтава вони регулярно стаються. Їх причини невідомі. Події можуть генеруватись природно-техногенними чинниками: активізацією геодеформаційних полів, інтенсивним видобутком флюїдів, а також інтенсивною техногенною діяльністю. Виконано порівняльний аналіз сейсміки, геофізики западини та подібних нафтогазових провінцій. S.
