Стаття присвячена 95-річному ювілею видатного геофізика міжнародного рівня Ігоря Івановича Рокитянського, який зробив вагомий внесок у дослідження електропровідності земної кори та верхньої мантії. Під час своєї багаторічної роботи в Інституті геофізики НАН України він став співавтором відкриття берегового ефекту, запровадив термін «геоелектромагнітні дослідження» та видав фундаментальну монографію у престижному видавництві Springer. Окрім класичних геофізичних методів, учений також досліджував альтернативні фізичні концепції, зокрема несиметричну механіку Козирєва, і присвятив значну увагу підготовці наукових кадрів вищої кваліфікації.
