 The letter examines the ways in which the current Chronostratigraphic scheme of Early Precambrian of the Ukrainian shield does not follow the new Stratigraphic Code of Ukraine (2012), as well as its correlation to the International Geologic times scale. It also reflects a scheme of the ideas (considered mistaken by the author) that concern the scope and dismemberment, the relative stratigraphic locations and ages of the Archean pre-greenstone complexes of the Ukrainian Shield. The author proposes a return from the isotope-geochronological to the historic-geological foundations for the creating the stratigraphic scheme of the Lower Precambrian of the Ukrainian Shield, with the leading role given to the geological foundations of stratigraphic dismemberment and the correlation of Archean and Proterozoic; as well as providing a number of suggestions regarding content and organization for the creation of a new scheme.
