Summary:The analysis of the history of the construction of stratigraphic schemes of the Quaternary deposits inUkraineis given over the past 40 years. The scheme of Department of the Geotectonic and the Quaternary Geology of the IGS of AS USSR (1969), the scheme of the Department of Quaternary Geology of the IGS of AS USSR (1986) and the scheme of URISC, which was approved in 1992, were chosen for a comparative analysis. On the basis of different methods (paleopedological, palynological, microtheriological, ostracodological, malacological, paleomagnetical, palioclimatological, radiocarbob method and thermoluminescence dating) the modernized scheme of Quaternary sedimentations ofUkraineis proposed.
