Description
Summary:Besides radiogenic energy, the "supplementary" energy source occurs in the Earth interior. This source is of cosmic origin and modulated by position and direction of the solar system motion in the Galaxy. Therefore, the maximal heat generation occurs when projection of the Earth motion in the Galaxy achieves the Earth equator. This results in existence of hot equatorial belt in the Earth interior. Similar equatorial belts of endogenous activity are also observed on many other planets of the solar system. Moreover, common for the planets is dependence of "excess" heat generation on planet mass. This suggests that "excess" heat in the interior of planets is of common cosmic nature. It is possible that sensitivity of planetary interior to external influence also depends on its chemical composition - hydrogen and iron may have higher sensitivity.
