THE ABYSSAL ORIGIN OF METHANE IN GAS HYDRATES

The authors consider the problems of gas hydrate origin, morphology of abyssal fluids, composition of the deep-originated matter, and specifics of gas hydrate formation. Description
Summary:The authors consider the problems of gas hydrate origin, morphology of abyssal fluids, composition of the deep-originated matter, and specifics of gas hydrate formation. As the scientists ofInstituteofGeological Sciences(NAS of Ukraine) suppose, the gas hydrate reserves are estimated as about 60 trln m3 of the methane equivalent. As it is known for today, 90% of the oceanic bottom surface are saturated with gas hydrates. Their energetic equivalent are many hundreds over the prospected till now oil, gas and coal accumulations.
