Geological journal| Резюме: | Book Review: Shestopalov V.M., Lukin A.E., Zgonnik V.A., Makarenko A.N., Larin N.V., Boguslavsky A.S. ESSAYS ON EARTH DEGASSING Kyiv, 2018. 632 p. Huge factual material on Earth degassing problems is systematized, analyzed and rethought in the fundamental monograph, which attracted the attention of the scientific geological community immediately after publication. Based on literature sources and personal research of the authors, a number of aspects of deep degassing of the planet are discussed. It is demonstrated that naftidogenesis and oil and gas formation are among its most important manifestations. Emphasis is placed on the role of plume-tectonic concept and the theory of plate tectonics in the hydrogen-hydrocarbon degassing as a determining component of general degassing processes. Various surface and near-surface manifestations of degassing are described and ideas about the state of the mantle-crust degassing drainage system are analyzed. The structures of modern activation in Ukraine and the role of degassing pipes in vertical water exchange in hydrogeological systems are considered. Attention is focused on the influence of deep degassing on the evolution of the biosphere as well as on the dangerous environmental consequences of degassing and possible ways to overcome them. The book will be a major reference source for all who are interested in modern achievements in the field of Earth sciences: specialists of geological, geophysical and geoecological profiles, managers in the use of natural resources and environmental problems, students studying Earth sciences, and nature lovers. |
