Geological journal| Summary: | The history of creation, goals, objectives, structure, composition, and modern activities of the National Stratigraphic Committee of Ukraine are characterized. The ongoing processes of reforming the geological industry, a drastic reduction of funding and structural divisions, led to the loss of important regulatory and legislative provisions in the activities of the State Service of Geology and Mineral Resources of Ukraine. Considering the curtailment of geological surveying and the reduction in the scale of exploratory drilling, the works on generalizing the available material, substantiating the stratigraphic position of strata and their correlation on a regional scale are gaining priority, without which modeling of the geological structure in general and mineral deposits in particular is impossible. |
