Description
Summary:The article provides the reasoning behind the usefulness of applying the method of geotectonic periodization, as well as the traditional chronosratigraphic periodization, to the early Precambrian. It proposes a model of geotectonic periodization that includes two stages of early Precambrian structure-material evolution of the shield‘s foundation (or megachronos) – Eogeos and Protogeos – each of which can be further subdivided into early and late stages, or geochrons. This periodization is based on sequentially formed typical tectonostatigraphic geoformasic complexes – granulite-gneisses, amphibolite-gneisses, greenstones, iron-siliconeschist'sand gneissoschist's, as well as the demontstrated relationships of their distribution in the geoblocky structure of the shield‘s foundation. The article also provides a match between the model of the geotectonic periodization with the geochronologic scale and draws conclusions about the possible global isochronic nature of the geochrons' borders the the diachronic sliding character of the megachrons' geotectonic borders.
