Description
Summary:The author analyses the published and personal evidences from the palynological research of the Sula sediments (Lower Neopleistocene) and vegetation reconstruction for the recent forest-steppe zone of Ukraine. Proceeding from the studying results (5 sections in the recent forest-steppe zone), the features and regional shifts in the vegetation cover of that time have been recognized for the central parts of the Dnieper-Donets Depression, Ukrainian Shield and Volyn-Podillia Plate. It is proved that the forest-steppe zone existed in the Sula time within the Platform Ukraine as well as the refugia presence near water bodies in the NW and, in part, central regions of Ukraine (thermophyle and broad-leaf plants).
