Yanko, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences and Professor in the Department of Marine Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering Geology, and Paleontology of the Odesa I.I. Mechnykov National University. Her role in the development of marine geology, paleontology, ecological micropaleontology, and marine geoarchaeology is highlighted. Among her most significant achievements as a marine paleontologist is the clarification of issues of global importance relating to the paleoecological, paleontological, and paleohydrological history of the Caspian-Black Sea-Mediterranean region.
