Description
Summary: The results of the monitoring studies performed at the contaminated site airfield near Nikolayev city are presented. The scheme that shows the formation of the clusters of light petroleum products in the subsurface is described. Some of the results that show the determination of hydrocarbons in soil and water samples are presented. The relationship between the concentrations of BTEX (Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene, Xylenes) and dissolved hydrocarbons was detected As a result of analytical determinations statistical data processing, their homogeneity has been proved. The homogeneity of the indicators that characterize the connection between the concentration of BTEX and hydrocarbons contained in aqueous solution can be interpreted as a consequence of the prevailing hydrocarbon dissolution process in the formation of the outer part of light products cluster.
