Summary:We consider the vector model of the development of electric power systems based on the using the non-classical Volterra equation of the first kind. The model takes into account age structure of generating capacities belonging to the different types of power plants. Based on the model the problem to search for optimal service life of generating capacity is formulated. The results of calculations on real data for different variations of economic indicators.
