fulltext The Sixth Ukrainian-Polish and Second East- European Meeting on Ferroelectrics Physics (September 6–10, 2002, Uzhgorod-Synjak, Ukraine) This issue contains Proceedings of the Sixth Ukrainian-Polish and Second East- European Meeting on Ferroelectrics Physics held in Synjak on September 6–10, 2002. Such joint international conferences devoted to the problems of phase transitions and ferroelectricity have been carried out by Ukrainian and Polish scientists during the last decade. The official organizers of the meeting were the Institute for Solid State Physics and Chemistry of Uzhgorod National University and the Institute for Condensed Matter Physics of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Lviv). The meeting was organized by: Organizing Committee: Chairmen: V.Yu.Slivka (Uzhgorod National University, Ukraine), Z.Czapla (University of Wroc law, Poland) Members: Yu.M.Vysochanskii (Uzhgorod National University, Ukraine) M.D.Glinchuk (Institute for Material Sciences of the NAS of Ukraine, Kyiv, Ukraine) O.G.Vlokh (Institute of Physical Optics, Lviv, Ukraine) M.A.Korynevskii (Institute for Condensed Matter Physics of the NAS of Ukraine, Lviv, Ukraine) V.M.Rizak (Uzhgorod National Universi- ty, Ukraine), B.Hilczer (Institute of Molecular Physics PAS, Poznań, Poland), J.Dec (University of Silesia, Katowice, Poland), J.Furtak (Uni- versity of Wroc law, Poland), R.Cach (University of Wroc law, Wroc law, Poland). Program Committee: Chairmen: I.V.Stasyuk (Institute for Condensed Matter Physics of the NAS of Ukraine, Lviv, Ukraine), A.Pietraszko (Institute for Low Temperature and Structural Research PAS, Wroc law, Poland) Members: Yu.M.Vysochanskii (Uzhgorod National University, Ukraine), Yu.M.Yakimenko (National Technical University of Ukraine, Kyiv, Ukraine) M.O.Romanyuk (Ivan Franko National University, Lviv, Ukraine) A.Yu.Kudzin (Dnipropetrovsk State University, Ukraine) R.R.Levitskii (Institute for Condensed Matter Physics of the NAS of Ukraine, Lviv, Ukraine), J.Stankowski (Institute of Molecular Phy- sics PAS, Poznań, Poland), Cz.Kuś (Pedagogical University, Krakow, Poland), K.Lukaszewicz (Institute for Low Temperature and Structural 187 Research PAS, Wroc law, Poland), L.Sobczyk (University of Wroc law, Wroc law, Poland) Over one hundred participants from Ukraine, Poland, Latvia, Czech Republic, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Japan, Russia, Belarus and other countries sub- mitted the results of their scientific investigations which were presented at 29 ple- nary lectures and on 73 posters. Among the most important issues discussed were the following: theory of ferroelectricity, critical phenomena and phase transitions, systems with incommensurate phases and hydrogen bonds, domains and defects, low-dimensional systems, disordered systems and glass-like states in ferroelectrics, relaxor ferroelectrics. The next Polish-Ukrainian meeting on Phase Transitions and Ferroelectric Phy- sics will be organized by Polish scientists in Poland in the year 2004. Organizing Committee 188
