Досліджується проблема розширень замкнених симетричних операторів із щілиною в спектрі. Розвинуто новий спосіб параметризації розширень (так звана модель Крейна). Ключову роль у нашому підході відіграє поняття сингулярного оператора. Дано явний опис розширень і встановлені спектральні властивості розширених операторів.
