Из археологических раскопок святилища у перевала Гурзуфское Седло 1981–1993 гг. происходят
 находки деталей нескольких римских щитов, датируемых I в. до н.э. – I в. н.э. В данной публикации будут рассмотрены детали наиболее раннего из найденных в святилище щита Scutum, относимого к республиканской эпохе. Деталі республіканського щита були знайдені
 у культурному шарі святилища Гурзуфське Сідло,
 а саме: посріблені бронзові предмети: археологічно
 цілий умбон(umbo), ребро (spina), пластина у формі лабрису (labris) і пластина–лунниця (lunula).
 Знахідки цих деталей дають можливість реконструювати вигляд щита з розкопок святилища Гурзуфське Сідло, який відноситься до овальних щитів типу Scutum. Стратиграфічні умови знахідки
 дозволяють датувати її першою половиною І ст. до н.є. Знахідки деталей зазначеного щита можуть
 бути пов'язані з можливою участю населення Гірського Криму у Мітридатових війнах 89-85, 84-82, 74-63 рр. до н.е. The details of Late Republican shield were found
 at the cultural layer of the sanctuary Gurzufskoe
 Sedlo together with other items of Roman military
 equipment of I cent BC – I cent AD. Those are an
 archaeologically entire bronze boss (umbo), covered
 with silver, bronze and silvered rib (spina), bronze
 and silvered plates in form of labris and a crescent
 (lunula), decorative bronze and silvered plate in form
 of star and shield edge, shield iron handle. A boss has the oval form and the ledges on the top and bottom
 parts, passing to the longitudinal edges located on an axis of symmetry of a shield. Such construction of an
 umbo and of a spina belongs to Scutum shield. The details of shield were revealed at level of cultural layer
 of late Hellenistic period. The revealing of details of Scutum give us a possibility to reconstruct a central
 part of shield. A height of shield was 3,5 Roman foot (1,03 –1,05 m). A short size of shield edge allow to assume
 its vertical location closer to the upper or lower rounded edge. There were found some straight and
 rounded edges from bronze and iron of other shields of similar type at a sanctuary. A full study concerning
 to details of several Roman shields I cent BC – I cent AD from a sanctuary Gurzufskoe Sedlo is preparing
 to publication. The finds of shield details of Scutum type from the sanctuary Gurzufskoe Sedlo
 are dated by first half of Ist century BC and can be connected with possible participation of the barbarian
 population of Mountain Crimea in Mithridates wars of 89–85 BC, 84–82 BC, 74–63 BC.
