Summary:A new treatment of the well-known empirical equation for the diffusion of gases in semicrystalline polymers, describing the dependence of the diffusivity on a relative fraction of the amorphous phase, is offered. In essence, this treatment reflects the multifractality of a polymer structure which is expressed in the dependence of its properties on a measurement scale, i.e., in this case, on the gas-penetrant molecule diameter.
