У роботі представлені керамічні вироби VI—XII ст.,
отримані в ході археологічних розкопок авторів біля
села Седларі, що знаходиться на відстані близько
4 км на захід від м. Момчилград, в Східних Родопах.
Пам'ятка розташована на широкій терасі лівого берега р. Варбіца (Сютлинка), правої притоки р. Арда. Серед
кераміки — ліпні вироби ранньовізантійського часу зі значною домішкою жорстви тальку в глиняному тісті,
який покращував вогнетривкість глини і підвищував її в'язкість. Також досить масова та різноманітна
пізньоантична гончарна кераміка місцевого та імпортного походження. Уламки виробів XI—XII ст. зустрічаються значно рідше. Їх знахідки пов'язані, ймовірно, з функціонуванням тут синхронного некрополю.
