У статті на основі історико-демографічних методик аналізується вікова структура дитячого населення Гетьманщини другої половини ХVІІІ ст. За даними Генерального опису Лівобережної України 1765–1769 рр. визначається чисельність дітей різного віку. Отримані демографічні дані розглядаються як маркери впливу на соціум «об'єктивних» природних чинників, а також як засіб верифікації облікового джерела.
The paper analyses the age structure of the child population of Hetmanschyna in the second half of the eighteenth century, andcomputes population of children of all ages. As the main source was used general description of Left-Bank Ukraine – a census of region, conducted in the years 1765- 1769 by order of Empress Catherine II. The resulting demographic data are considered as markers of influence on society “objective” natural factors and as a means of verification of historical source. Traditionally, records are public in early modern day left unattended a large number of children, but my research shows that this applies only to infants. Overall analysis of the age structure of the child population gives an interesting material for reflection about the features of urban and rural life in Hetmanschyna. This is a discussion about the absence or presence of urban settlements in the region. The differences in the age structure of the population between city and countryside have been shaped by the presence of specific special lifestyle of its inhabitants (even at the primary level) that influence the demographic behavior and traceable through the appropriate demographic factors. The relative number of children of all ages depend on fluctuations in fertility and mortality, and could be changed by the influence of hunger and epidemics.
В статье на основании данных Генерального описания Левобережной Украины 1765–1769 гг. анализируется возрастная структура детского населения Гетманщины второй половины XVIII века. Определяется численность детей разного возраста. Полученные демографические данные рассматриваются как маркеры влияния на социум «объективных» природных факторов, а также как средство верификации массовых источников.
