The articledeals with the historical context of the concept of «native languge». The attention was paid to
the importance of this concept, as industrial nominees and nominees of the spiritual. The views and thoughts
of the notable figures of our culture about the mother tongue, the native word, the introduction of the language
into the society in which you live, into his culture are presented.
Considered the views on the problem of the native language of Ukrainian scientists Ivan Ogienko, Mykhailo
Hrushevsky, Ivan Franko, Konstantin Ushinsky and others.
