Підкреслено, що епістолярна спадщина та фотодокументи «остарбайтерів» з колекції Державного архіву Миколаївської області вперше стали предметом джерелознавчих досліджень. З'ясовано, що матеріали листування містять детальну ретроспективну інформацію, що дозволяє дослідити особливості примусової праці «східних робітників» на об'єктах військово-промислового комплексу, в державних установах та організаціях, у приватних господарствах населення країн, до яких було депортовано цивільне населення з досліджуваного регіону. To analyze the topic of Ukrainian people’s everyday life in the conditions of forced labor in the Third Reich and the occupied European countries, the fundamental attention should be paid to analysis and introduction of regional complexes of personal documents into scientific use. A special place among them belongs to private letters and photographs, sent by «Ostarbeiters» from labor camps to their relatives or acquaintances to the Mykolaiv oblast. Such documents for decades have remained uninvestigated and unpublished in their original form up to now due to legislative restrictions, most of which expired in 2018. The article analyzes the informative potential of the private correspondence and photographs of forced laborers from the Mykolaiv oblast and emphasizes that the epistolary heritage and photographic documents of «Ostarbeiters» from the collection of the State Archives of the Mykolaiv oblast became the subject of the source study research for the first time. It is concluded that the availability of such powerful epistolary heritage with the original photographs is a promising basis for studying the history of forced labor of the Mykolaiv oblast population not only in Germany and Austria, but also in other European countries. The materials of the correspondence contain detailed retrospective information that allows investigating the peculiarities of Ostarbeiters’ everyday life at the militaryindustrial complex enterprises, institutions, organizations, and private farms of the population of the countries to which Ukrainians were deported. Among the various microhistorical storylines in private correspondence and the content of the photographs of our compatriots, we can distinguish the main elements: the process of deportation, the types, conditions and duration of work, the size of payment for work, the standards of food, the availability of clothing, footwear, hygiene and sanitary conditions of residence in camps, the exterior of barracks, the features of leisure and recreation, the representation of the Nazi official policy and its changes in relation to laborers «from the East», the use of child labor, emotions of people, interpersonal and interethnic relations and factors affecting them, health condition and others. To analyze the topic of Ukrainian people’s everyday life in the conditions of forced labor in the Third Reich
