Our experiments and novel theory have now characterized a new kind of neoclassical transport processes arising from chaotic (collisionless) separatrix crossings, which occur due to equilibrium E×B plasma rotation along poloidally asymmetric (ruffled) separatrices, and due to wave-induced separatrix modulations.
