The information about relations between
duke Vladislav Opolsky and Lviv at the time of
his rule in the Rusian lands (1372–1378, 1386–
1387) was analyzed. The role of the city in the
system of government of the duke on behalf of
the Hungarian rulers is shown, an overview of
the documents of the duke, his local encirclement
and the privileges given to the city in Lviv were
offered. Lviv prince’s coins were recalled and
examples of religious politics on the territory of
a multi-ethnic city were analyzed, in particular
testimonies to support the Catholic monastic
orders of the Dominicans and Franciscans were shown. Available facts about the relationship of
duke Vladislav Opolsky with Lviv point to him as the main object of the interests of the ruler at
the attached to the Hungarian kingdom of Western Ukrainian lands.
