У статті проаналізовано мемуарні тексти Дмитра Дорошенка
 («Мої спомини про давнє минуле (1901 – 1914 рр.)»). Вони
 знайомлять сучасного читача з маловідомими сторінками історії
 української мови початку ХХ ст., показаної через долі конкретних
 людей, їхніх вражень від бачених, пережитих подій. Це історія
 українського національного руху, життя національно свідомої
 інтелігенції, яка розуміла значення української мови для освіти
 народу, розвитку його культури.
 Початок ХХ ст. позначений активним рухом за національно-
 культурне самоусвідомлення українського народу. У мемуарах
 персоналізується питання соціального і національного статусу
 української мови: автор пише про належність згадуваних осіб до
 українства, про їх ставлення до української мови. The article analyzes the memoirs Dmytro Doroshenko («My
 Remembrances of the Old Time (1901 – 1914)»). They introduce the
 modern reader to little-known pages of the history of the Ukrainian
 language of the early twentieth century, shown through the fate of
 concrete people, their impressions from the seen, experienced events.
 This is the history of the Ukrainian national movement, the life of the
 nationally conscious intellectuals, who understood the importance
 of the Ukrainian language for the education of the people and the
 development of its culture.
 The beginning of the twentieth century was marked by an active
 movement for the national-cultural self-awareness of the Ukrainian
 people. In memoirs, the question of the social and national status of
 the Ukrainian language is personalized, where the author notes the
 belonging of the aforementioned people to Ukrainians, their attitude to
 the Ukrainian language.
