Стаття присвячена історіографічній спадщині доби Гетьманщини в дослідженнях перших десятиліть ХIХ ст. Характеризуються особливості зародження наукових підходів до вивчення історії цього періоду, ідеологічні спрямованості та встановлення їх значущості у розвитку української історіографії. Окрему увагу приділено дослідникам історії гетьманської столиці – міста Глухова, які, так чи інакше, у своїх працях вивчали передумови, зміст або відображували різні аспекти життя Глухова як останньої столиці Гетьманщини, а потім адміністративно-територіального центру України. Завданням цієї роботи є спроба найбільш повно та ґрунтовно систематизувати праці дослідників історії Гетьманщини перших десятиліть ХIХ ст., їхнє глибоке аналітичне вивчення і відображення змісту. Для досягнення цієї мети автор вбачав за необхідне вивчити і проаналізувати історіографічну спадщину перших десятиліть ХIХ ст., у першу чергу щодо столичного життя міста Глухова. При цьому предметом дослідження стали праці, в яких відображені явища і події української історії, пов’язані з розкриттям найголовніших сторін життя колишньої гетьманської столиці.
The article is devoted to the historiographical heritage of the history of the Hetmanate in the researches of the first decades of the nineteenth century. Characteristics of the origin of scientific approaches to the study of the history of this period, ideological orientation and establishment of their significance for the development of Ukrainian historiography are characterized. Particular attention is paid to researchers of the history of the Hetman capital of the city of Hlukhiv, who in one way or another in their studies studied the preconditions, content, or reflected different aspects of life in the city of Hlukhiv, as the last capital of the Hetmanate, and then the administrative-territorial center of Ukraine. The aim of this work is an attempt to systematically and thoroughly systematize the work of researchers of the history of the Hetmanate in the first decades of the nineteenth century, their deep analytical study and reflection of the content. To achieve this goal, the author considered it necessary to study and analyze the historiographical heritage of the first decades of the 19th century, first and foremost, regarding the capital life of the city of Hlukhiv. At the same time, the subject of the study was works reflecting the phenomena and events of Ukrainian history related to the disclosure of the most important aspects of the life of the former Hetman’s capital. The study of the Ukrainian historiography of the formation of the Hetmanate is nowadays a topical scientific problem also in connection with those complex processes that take place in the national historical science. The coverage of the chosen topic allows us to better understand certain patterns of the historiographic process in Ukraine.
