У статті проаналізовано зміст і визначено джерельне значення листів українського етнографа, мистецтвознавця і фольклориста П.Я. Литвинової-Бартош, що зберігаються в Інституті рукопису НБУ. Листи адресовані українським письменникам і громадським діячам (М. Біляшівському, Б. Грінченку, М. Бережкову). The part of the epistolary heritage of P.Ya. Lytvynova-Bartosh, the prominent Ukrainian ethnographer, art critic, and folklorist of the second half of the 19th – beginning 20th century is analyzed in article. She was known as a researcher of the culture and everyday life of Ukrainians from Polissia, and cooperated with many scientific institutions and famous scientists and public figures of her time. To date the thematically diverse creative heritage of P. Lytvynova remains under-researched and not properly evaluated. The figure of the ethnographer is little known. The artistic manuscript and epistolary heritage of the researcher is stored in the funds of the M. Rylskyi Institute of Art Studies, Folklore Studies and Ethnology of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Institute of Archeology of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Institute of Manuscript of the V.I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine. (in text referred to as IM NBU), National Museum of History of Ukraine. Contest and source potential of letters of P. Ya. Lytvynova are analyzed and determined in article. These letters are kept at the Institute of Manuscripts of V.I. Vernadskyi National library of Ukraine (found III and XXXI). Letters addressed to Ukrainian writers and public figures – M. Biliashivskyi, B. Hrinchenko, M. Berezhkov. The researcher’s letters are an important source for exploring her life and scientific and public activities. In addition to the article, three letters of P. Ya. Lytvynova addressed to M. Bilyashivsky and M. Berezhkov are published. The letters are printed for the first time. The letters are printed from the originals, the language, stylistic features and the author’s vocabulary of the text are preserved. Information about the place where documents were stored was added to the texts.
