У статті розглядається зв’язок із Глухівщиною російських письменників ХІХ ст., які здебільшого були уродженцями України й належали до української школи в тогочасній російській літературі, а саме: народження та проживання в цій місцевості, перебування під час подорожей чи виконання службових обов’язків, а також змалювання в художніх творах Глухова та інших населених пунктів, відомих історичних постатей та подій, пов’язаних із цією місцевістю. This article examines the connection between the Hlukhiv region and the Russian writers of the 19th century. Most of them were Ukrainian natives and belonged to the Ukrainian school in the current Russian literature: they were born or lived in that area, had temporary stay during the journey or working period, or depicted Hlukhiv and other settlements as well as famous historical events related to this location in their works. Mykola Hogol was arrested in Hlukhiv, Oleksandr Palitsyn, Ivan Vernet stayed there, Ivan Kulzhinsky and Maxim Yaschenko (monk Dosifei) were born there. Vasyl Tumansky and his cousin Fedir Tumansky were natives of Hlukhiv region. A number of Hlukhiv natives, who are best known for their pedagogical or historical and ethnographic works, also wrote poetic and prose works in Russian. Hlukhiv and Hlukhiv region is mentioned in the works of Russian writers of the 19th century. The analysis of these connections proves the important role of Hlukhiv region on the cultural map of the XIX century and allows to combine the historical and literary aspect of the study of Russian literature in the XIX century with local lore.
