- у деяких селах Сіверщини не вистачало шкіл і дитячих дошкільних закладів, або ж вони потребували ремонту;
- медичне обслуговування сільського населення Сіверщини та
рівень санітарії на селі характеризувалися наявністю численних проблем: зокрема, тут відчувалася серйозна нестача медичних працівників;
- у газетних матеріалах відображалися численні негативні
явища повсякдення правового та етичного плану, висловлювалася глибока стурбованість існуючим станом справ та пропонувалися шляхи їхнього вирішення.
The article is devoted to the coverage of certain aspects of everyday life of the
rural areas population of the Novhorod-Siverskyi district in the period of 1924-
1925 years. The relevant publications in the newspapers «Red Banner» (Krasnoye
Znamya) (1924), «Red Flag» (Chervonyi Styag) (1925), «Peasant Newspaper»
(Selyanska Gazeta) (1925), published in Chernihiv, were the object of analysis.
It was found that in the mid-1920s the daily life of the peasantry of Sivershchyna
had been characterized by the following features:
- Further development of transformational processes due to the introduction
of official communist ideology into the everyday life and specialized spheres of
activity in the countryside with the corresponding organizational forms of cultural-
educational and political-educational work.
- In their implementation in practice, the level of responsibility and business
qualities of the direct executors played a significant role: rural intellectuals,
local leaders and activists. There were also quite original ideas in a combination
of traditional forms of peasant leisure with a new ideological content.
- In some rural settlements of the Sivershchyna there were not enough
schools and children’s preschools, or they needed repair.
- Medical care for the rural population of Sivershchyna and the level of
sanitation in the countryside were characterized by the presence of numerous
problems, the solution of which was far from desirable. In particular, there was
a serious shortage of medical staff.
- The newspaper materials reflected numerous negative phenomena of the
legal and ethical plan, which filled the peasant life of the Severshchyna (crime,
theft, drunkenness, gossip, etc.), as well as expressed deep concern about the
current state of affairs and suggested ways to solve them.
Prospects for further research are seen by the author in the involvement
of relevant archival materials, which would give a more comprehensive look at
the reality of the time and make a more thorough picture of the everyday life
of the Sivershchyna peasantry in the early Soviet period.
