У статті досліджуються погляди шляхти Речі Посполитої на шляхи
 урегулювання козацької проблеми, що гостро постала на коронаційному сеймі Яна
 Казимира. Проаналізовано запропоновані владними особами Речі Посполитої
 основні проекти її вирішення та показано, як шляхетське ставлення до конфлікту відображалося в посольських інструкціях та давало про себе знати впродовж сеймових
 засідань. Ретельний аналіз сеймикових інструкцій чітко засвідчує, що шляхта не
 мала єдиної позиції у ставленні до козацького питання, в її середовищі лунали голоси
 як на підтримку мирного, політичного шляху вирішення конфлікту, так і демонструвалися сумніви в його ефективності або навіть його заперечення. Крім того, детально реконструюється засідання коронаційного сейму в тій його частині, де йшлося про
 шляхи вирішення козацького питання. Аналіз сеймових дебатів засвідчує, що їх
 учасники в міркуваннях про мир в Україні не виходили за межі проектів розв’язання
 проблеми „канцлера” та „гетьмана”, сформульованих на самому початку конфлікту. The article shows the position of the nobility of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth
 towards the Cossack problem at the coronation Sejm of John II Casimir. The proper lecture
 includes both presenting the basic projects of regulating the said problem enforced by the
 then managing circles of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth as well as showing how they
 influence the position of the nobility against the conflict in Ukraine presented in the instructions
 for the Sejm and during its duration.
 Therefore, the Deputy’s instructions were thoroughly analyzed, which clearly showed
 that the nobility did not present a uniform position on the Ukrainian problem, in its ranks
 there were both voices expressing support for a peaceful way of resolving the conflict, as well
 as a lack of faith in the effectiveness of this method or the expression of its disapproval.
 In addition, the session of the Sejm, which focused on ways to solve the Cossack question,
 was discussed in a fairly detailed way.
 Their insightful analysis proved that the participants of the debate on the calm of Ukraine
 did not go beyond the „chancellor’s” and „hetman” conflict resolution projects formulated
 at the very beginning of the conflict.
