Дослідники часто констатують поганий стан збереженості документів про діяльність навчальних закладів та низьку інформативність наявної джерельної бази стосовно викладання нумізматики. У статті акцентовано увагу на історіографічному аспекті означеної
тематики і запропоновано огляд праць українських дослідників, присвячених становленню нумізматики як навчальної дисципліни. У більшості це наукові статті, розділи дисертаційних досліджень, довідники. Узагальненої праці, яка б охоплювала історію становлення
нумізматики як навчальної дисципліни, в Україні не існує. Проте є
ґрунтовні дослідження по окремих навчальних закладах. Аналіз матеріалу дозволяє виділити основні напрями дослідницьких пошуків,
сучасний стан розробки проблеми та перспективні напрями для майбутніх студій. Хронологічно запропоноване дослідження обмежується тематикою періоду кінця XIX – першою половиною ХХ ст.
The formation of numismatics as a science is traditionally presented
against the background of European scientific processes, including late.
XVIII – early XIX century. This is just about a scientific component, rather
than collecting in general, which formed much earlier. An important
milestone is the end of the XIX century. This time is characterized by a close
connection of numismatics with the development of archeology, which,
being a science of antiquity, included a number of auxiliary disciplines.
There is a first wave of the institutionalization of the world numismatic
science – numerous numismatic societies are formed. Numismatic centers
are formed as the composition of educational institutions. These are, first
and foremost, museums and minz-cabinets. But an important milestone is
the teaching of special courses for students. Lecturers were prominent
scientists, authors of extraordinary works on numismatics. Therefore, we
consider the study of the formation of numismatics as a teaching discipline
relevant and informative in the light of studying the history of this discipline
in Ukraine and in the world at large. A similar issue has not been
investigated separately in the Ukrainian context, but it has not disappeared
from the perspective of numismatic historiographers, albeit in a limited
amount of intelligence. However, in the history of the study of numismatics
as a discipline, including, in recent years, the demand has increased. The
teaching of numismatics in educational institutions has been investigated to
date in different ways. The source base of such studios is quite specific.
Researchers state significant caution because of the poor state of preservation
of documents about the activity of educational institutions and the
lack of information about the teaching of numismatics in them. That is why,
at the moment, we have focused on the historiographical aspect of the topic
and offer an overview of the works of Ukrainian researchers on the
formation of numismatics as a teaching discipline. Analysis of the material
will identify the main areas of research, the current state of development of
the problem, critical issues and promising areas for future studies.
Chronologically, in this study, we limit ourselves to the subject of the
formation of numismatics as a teaching discipline in the XIX – first half of
the XX century in the studios of modern Ukrainian historiography.
