In the article the analysis of various concepts of the linguistic method is presented. The thesis of the linguistic method as a complicated logical unit is grounded. In the structure of the method three different components are distinguished: ontological, operational and teleological. The arguments are given in favour of the statement that all methods used in the linguistic researches are considered to be linguistic methods.
