У статті доводиться доцільність когнітивно-порівняльного етимологічного методу дослідження першокореня, його засади та прийоми. Розглядаються приклади застосування даного методу, виводиться поняття першокореня, трансляції його смислу та трансформації значень. The article deals with etymology and primary roots. For their studying is introduced cognitive- comparative etymology method. The research is dedicated to the exploration of the ancient roots, that came to the modem language from the most ancient times. They continue to exist and produce new words in different languages. In this research are investigated the words from Ukrainian, Russian, Italian, English, Spanish, Arab, Turkish, Greek and Quechua languages. These languages form a background for finding out primary roots, because the root is ancient one if it is not loaned and exists in different non related languages.
