Мета роботи: представити результати дослідження матеріалів із архівного фонду М.Н. Шуста, що зберігається у Ніжинському краєзнавчому музеї ім. І. Спаського. Завдання роботи: окреслити коло ділових, наукових, та культурних взаємин Миколи Наумовича Шуста, та їх роль у культурному процесі м. Ніжина, у ІІ пол. ХХ ст. Актуалізація питання полягає в необхідності вивчення досвіду збереження культурних традицій минулими поколіннями. Використані методи: просопографічний, хронологічний та статистичний для опрацювання представлених у статті джерел. Новизна роботи полягає в тому, що в науковий обіг введено нові біографічні матеріали, та встановлено коло творчих, ділових і особистих з’язків відомого українського письменника, педагога, громадського діяча – Миколи Наумовича Шуста. Висновки. В статті окреслено коло ділових, наукових та культурних зв’язків із провідними діячами України, які М. Шуст, будучи письменником, педагогом та громадським діячем, підтримував до кінця життя. Також охарактеризована їхня роль у культурному процесі та громадському житті Ніжина кін. ХХ ст. Однією з найбільш інформативних груп джерел, що стосуються цієї тематики, є листування. The purpose of the publication: to present the results of research materials from the archives of M.N. Shust, stored in the I. Spassk. Nizhyn Museum of Local Lore. The tasks of the work: to outline the range of business, scientific and cultural relations of Mykola Naumovych Shust, and itʼs role in the cultural process of Nizhyn in the sec. half of XX c. The actualization of the issue is the need to study the experience of preserving cultural traditions by past generations. Prosopographic, chronological and statistical methods are used in the elaboration of the sources presented in the article. The novelty of the work is that new biographical materials have been introduced into scientific circulation and the range of creative, business and personal connections of the famous Ukrainian writer, teacher, public figure ‒ Mykola Naumovych has been established. Shusta. Conclusions. The article defines the range of business, scientific and cultural ties with leading figures of science and culture of Ukraine that M. Shust, as a writer, teacher and public figure, maintained until the end of his life. Also, studied their role in the cultural process and public life of Nizhyn in the end of XX c. One of the most informative groups of sources on this topic is the correspondence, the content of which reflects the main essence of the relationship of Mykola Naumovych, with leading figures of culture and science of Ukraine.
