Description
Summary:Six species of hymenoptera were in a state of diapause in the diapausing puparia of Mayetiola destructor Say. and Oscinella sp. sp. Eupteromalus micropterus Lind, and Merisus desrtuctor Say. are found to be dominating. The pupae of the mentioned hymenoptera were in a state of a deep diapause during 1959—1966. With abundant moistening of host’s puparia at a temperature of 20° C the hymenoptera came out of (the diapause state in 5—11 days. This peculiarity can be used for the development of the biomethod of controlling grass flies. Lolyembryony phenomenon is observed for Eupteromalus micropterus Lind. (3— 11 individuals of parasites developed from one egg of the hymenoptera in the puparia of grass flies).
