C. markevitshi is conditionally attributed to the group «pictipennis». This species is an active bloodsucking Diptera in the Ukrainian steppe zone. Morphological characters of the male and female and the information on distribution and ecology of the species are described. The materials on the first description of C. minutissimus are used for the redescription of this species. Differential diagnostics of C. minutissimus and close species is given.
