Digital Library of Periodicals of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine| Summary: | 36 species of bird lice are found on Passeriformes of the Ukraine. They belong to the genera Bruelia (30 species), Penenirmus (4 species), Rostrinirmus (1 species), Sturnidoecus (1 species). Most of the studied species are characterized by strict hostal specificity; many species are first observed in the fauna of the region under study. Five species of the Bruelia genus are new for the USSR fauna and three species are first registered in the Ukrainian fauna.
