They are found in association with the fossil turtle, fishes, mammals and spore-pollinic complexes. Spheriides may be regared as an indicator of palaeogeographic environment. They live in the stagnant freshwater reservoirs with weak current and slightly alkalescent waters:- lakes, swamps, mort-rivers.
