The Caucasian samples clearly differ from the Bulgarian ones by less body dimensions, the structure of Sternite VIII in a male and genital plate in a female; they are more light-coloured. Therefore they are distinguished as a new subspecies Bulgaroperla mirabilis caucasica ssp. n.
