It is established that distribu¬tion of ants is affected by two main factors: peculiarity in the growth conditions of the
forest stands within the steppe zone and character of ants' nesting.
The problem is discussed on possibility to use Formicidiae as an additional factor when estimating ecological conditions of the forest-steppe plantations.
