Нудьга, Леонід Ушкалов та інші науковці. Характеристика мотиву правди та особливостей художнього вираження його в текстах Климовського є актуальною для дослідження барокових мотивів у літературі XVIII ст.
У статті творчість цього автора розглянуто крізь призму переосмислення поетом мотиву
правди. Барокові риси письма у віршованих трактатах, адресованих цареві, допомагають створити панорамність і художньо інтерпретувати таке відгалуження мотиву правди, як проблема
справедливого правління.
Тематика творів інтерпретується крізь призму ставлення до влади української барокової інтелігенції. Філософські міркування про сенс людського буття автор поєднує з реалістичним відтворенням проблем його часу. У віршованих трактатах Семен Климовський послуговується низкою художніх і риторичних засобів, характерних для барокової поетики. Уводиться низка біблійних образів для створення похвального слова правді, є й алюзії на народні канти.
Твори Семена Климовського порівнюються з текстами його сучасників (Митрофан Довгалевський, Феофан Прокопович та ін.), що дає змогу виявити особливості інтерпретації мотиву правди й справедливості в доробку цього письменника. Трактати Семена Климовського постають реакцією на події першої половини XVIII ст., репрезентують ставлення української інтелігенції до
проблеми правди й справедливого правління. Барокові метафори, ампліфікація порівнянь із біблійними образами, риторичні звороти й звертання поєднуються в кількох розділах, підпорядковані ядру
мотиву правди.
The work of the Baroque writer Semen Klymovskyi is currently an object of interest of Ukrainian literature
scholars. This poet known as the author of the song «A cossack went across the Dunabe». Semen Klymovskyi
ʼs treatises have been interpreted less, despite the fact that they are an example of the late Baroque
and are unique in their content. At different times, the didactic treatises «On the justice of the rulers, their
truth and vigour» and «On the humility of the high» were interpreted by Valerii Shevchuk, Hryhorii Nudha,
Leonid Ushkalov, and other scholars. The characterization of the motif of truth and peculiarities of its fictional
expression in Klymovskyiʼs texts is relevant for the study of Baroque motifs in literature of 18th c.
The article examines the work of this author through the prism of the poetʼs rethinking of the motif of
truth. The Baroque features of writing in the poetic treatises addressed to the tsar help to create a panoramic
view and fictional interpret such a branch of the truth motif as the problem of just government.
The themes of the works are interpreted through the prism of the attitude of the Ukrainian baroque intelligentsia
to power. The author combines philosophical reflections on the meaning of human existence
with a realistic depiction of the problems of his time. In his verse treatises, Semen Klymovskyi uses a number
of fictional and rhetorical elements that are typical for Baroque poetics. A number of biblical images
are introduced to create a word of praise for the truth, and there are allusions to folk cantos.
The works of Semen Klymovskyi are compared with the texts of his contemporaries (Mytrofan Dovhalevskyi,
Feofan Prokopovych, etc.), which makes it possible to identify the peculiarities of the interpretation
of the motif of truth and justice in the treatises of this writer. Semen Klymovskyiʼs treatises are the writerʼs
reaction to the events of the first half of the 18th c., representing the attitude of the Ukrainian intelligentsia
to the problem of truth and fair governance. Baroque metaphors, amplification of comparisons with biblical
images, rhetorical turns, questions and appeals are combined in several chapters, subordinated to the
core of the truth motif.
