L’auteur s’intéresse aux modalités de traitement des thèmes de la Nation et du nationalisme par les sciences sociales. Les fondateurs de la sociologie et de l’ethnologie, Durkheim et Mauss, se réfèrent de manière constante au phenomène national, sans pour autant lui consacrer des travaux majeurs. Pour sa part, Marcel Maget n’a pas manqué de rappeler son importance cardinale dans la formation des sociétés modernes. L’auteur appelle en conclusion à un véritable sursaut des sciences sociales, et de l’anthropologie en particulier, pour en faire un objet d’étude fondamental. The author is interested in features of interpretation in social sciences of such themes as nation and nationalism. The founders of sociology and ethnology — Durkheim and Moss constantly address to the phenomenon of nationalism, nevertheless do not devote to it thorough works. For his part, Marseilles Maget has not missed an opportunity to remind of the importance of its role in formation of the modern society. In conclusion the author calls for the appropriate validity of increase of interest to social sciences and, in particular, to anthropology, as to a subject of fundamental study.
